“Mark Malkoff Gets Carried in NYC” Video Shoot today Friday Dec 18
For the holidays I want to disprove to the world the myth that New Yorkers are unfriendly. I’m going to do that by transporting myself from the southernmost end of Manhattan roughly 13.57 miles to the very most northern end of the island by only having people in New York physically carry me the entire way. I’m guessing it’ll take a day and a half.
Date: Today Friday December 18, 2009
Start: 7:30am outside the entrance to the Staten Island Ferry
Route: We will be going up Broadway
Finish: tdb The top of Manhattan by Broadway Bridge near 220st & Broadway
I desperately NEED everyone’s help. Please spread the word to your friends in NYC and tell them to carry me! Individuals can carry me two feet or two blocks. I’ll take anything. Luckily I only weigh 130 pounds. For people that can’t carry me by themselves, please bring your friends and you can all carry me together.

Hey, having lived for a bit in a country without army, with nice people, I was just getting a little mad at the delivery guys on bikes nearly creaming my kids and I, the manic Jersey plates who have some issue with waiting to get through a line of crosswalkers-obeying the lights, so I have decided to come help with my kids. I can prove to myself what you are out to prove, while you do. It will just melt my heart the moment I see a stranger carry their burdon…so much so that I may be inspired to carry you biblically. The meaning of this is when you ask for 2 block, I carry you four.
I think it will take you a day only. I used to be a backpacker. I can carry you like a baby in my arms for a minute, the right shoulder for 3, the left for about 3, piggy back you for 2 more, and fireman’s carry for about 5 more, followed by repeats of each for half the time. If I take the pain killers beforehand, I can add about 25% to each carry. Well, see ya, and 31 degrees-sunny!
